Now I realise there is no real quick fix for losing weight. When desperation becomes an issue, it is usually because there are other things going on. It is not about the food.

It is about the feelings that you have about yourself. You probably feel down, possibly even depressed. Believe me, I have been there. Dieting is not the answer. It will only perpetuate the situation and the cycle will continue.

How to Cope When You Are Desperate to Lose Weight Quickly

Here are some quick steps to take when you are feeling desperate to lose weight quickly. 

  • Stop. Breathe in, but most of all,  breathe out fully. Feel the air expel right down to the buttom of your abdomen.
  • Start a journal. Write a list with the title "Why am I so Desperate to Lose Weight?" Then just write without thinking about it too much. Allow all your thoughts and feelings to come out. What is really eating you underneath the cover of weight loss?
  • Get outside. Observe a piece of nature such as a tree and its leaves blowing in the breeze, a bird flying by, the sun or moon in the sky. Continue to observe this piece of nature with a curiosity you have never had before. Satrt to ask yourself questions about it. Write or draw about it.
  • Answer this question: If you woke up in the morning and your weight was not an issue anymore how would your life be different? Be honest in your answer. What is the desperation covering up? What is it stopping you from living your life?
